His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, was briefed on Monday on the situation in Shabwa Governorate.

He was particularly briefed on the latest developments surrounding the criminal attack launched by the terrorist Houthi militias against newly recruited personnel from various governorates across the country. The attack left several people dead and wounded.

In a phone call with Shabwa Governor Awadh bin Al-Wazir, President Al-Alimi directed the relevant authorities to provide the wounded with the necessary medical care and look after the families of the fallen. He directed the authorities to complete procedures to regularize the personnels’ status and pay their salaries, and take the necessary measures to deliver a firm response to those responsible for the terrorist attack.

The President said the targeting of the recruits reflects the Houthi militias’ pattern of resorting to cowardly terrorist attacks whenever they come under pressure or their subversive schemes, backed by the Iranian regime, encounter setbacks.

President Al-Alimi extended his sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished the wounded a speedy recovery. He stressed that these attacks would not deter the state from fulfilling its responsibilities to protect citizens and restore their national institutions.

He affirmed that the blood of the martyrs would not be shed in vain, but would remain a trust requiring the state to care for their families and honor their sacrifices and precious blood.
