President Al-Alimi Reaffirms Yemen’s Firm Support for the Palestinian People and their Right to an Independent State

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Dr. Mohammed Mustafa, the Prime Minister of the brotherly State of Palestine, on the sidelines of the International Security Conference in Munich, Germany.

During the meeting, the Palestinian Prime Minister conveyed to President Al-Alimi the greetings of his brother, His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen, along with his wishes for good health and happiness for the President and the members of the Presidential Leadership Council, as well as stability and peace for the Yemeni people.

For his part, the president of the Presidential Leadership Council entrusted the Palestinian Prime Minister with conveying his greetings and those of the Council members to the Palestinian leadership, wishing them abundant health and well-being, along with security, freedom, and peace for the brotherly Palestinian people.

President Al-Alimi reaffirmed the steadfast position of the Republic of Yemen in support of the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to establish an independent, fully sovereign state on their national territory, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution, the Arab Peace Initiative, and relevant international resolutions.

Furthermore, President Al-Alimi reiterated Yemen’s strong rejection and condemnation of Israel’s policies of forced displacement and settlement expansion, stressing that such actions violate international resolutions and treaties and contradict the aspirations of the Palestinian people for freedom and independence.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Mekhlafi, the Economic Advisor to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, and Mr. Loai Al-Eryani, Yemen's Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany.
