President Al-Alimi Offers Condolences on Passing of Dr. Wahiba Fara’a

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, sent a cable of condolence and sympathy to struggler Major General Ali Mohammed Hashem on the passing of his wife, Dr. Wahiba Ghalib Fara’a, former Minister of Human Rights. Dr. Wahiba passed away after a lifetime of contributions to serving her country and advancing the development of her people.

On behalf of himself, the Council members, and the government, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed his sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to Major General Ali Hashem, sons of the deceased, her family members, colleagues, and students for this painful loss.

His Excellency the President praised the virtues of the deceased and her significant contributions to the country through her academic, political, and administrative activities, as well as the numerous leadership positions she held in the state. Notably, Dr. Wahiba served as the first female Minister of Human Rights in the country and was the first female president of a private Yemeni university. Furthermore, His Excellency highlighted the deceased’s distinguished record as a researcher, lecturer, political writer, and women's rights activist, who enriched the Yemeni library with numerous publications, books, and educational, political, developmental, and social studies.

The President stressed that with the passing of Dr. Wahiba Fara’a, Yemen has lost one of its most prominent academic, administrative, and national competencies. His Excellency prayed to Allah Almighty to bestow His mercy upon the deceased and to inspire her family and loved ones with patience and solace.
