President Al-Alimi stresses the importance of  European role in achieving peace in Yemen.

  Riyadh:

His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, chairman of the Presidential Council, received today, Monday,  Sweden's special envoy for Yemen Peter Semneby, to discuss the latest developments in Yemen and efforts to revive the peace process in the country.

 

The meeting touched upon the distinguished bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and the role of the Kingdom of Sweden in alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people, and supporting efforts to achieve peace and stability in Yemen.

 

The chairman of the Presidential Council stressed the importance of redoubling European pressure on the Houthi militias and pushing them to deal seriously with the brotherly and friendly efforts to renew the humanitarian truce and resume a UN- sponsored comprehensive political process under the nationally, regionally, and internationally agreed-upon references, including the Saudi peace initiative.

 

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi.
