President Al-Alimi Receives U.S. Ambassador

Today, Tuesday, His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with the Mr. Steven Fagin, the U.S. Ambassador to Yemen.

During the meeting, they discussed areas of bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries and explored future prospects at various levels.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the Yemeni situation and issues of mutual concern, including the international support needed for government efforts to strengthen the national currency, address the consequences of halted oil exports, and mitigate the impact of rising maritime shipping costs on living conditions due to terrorist attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi militias.

The discussions also touched upon the actions taken by the U.S. Department of Treasury against some national commercial institutions and the ways to review these actions through legal frameworks and the established channels between the two countries.
