President Al-Alimi receives cable of congratulations from President of Swiss Confederation on National Day

His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received a congratulatory cable from Her Excellency, Ms. Viola Amherd, President of the Swiss Confederation, on the anniversary of the 34th National Day of the Republic of Yemen, May 22.

The President of the Swiss Confederation said in the congratulatory cable  "on behalf of Swiss Federal Council and Swiss citizens, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to your Excellency and the Yemeni people on the occasion of this year's National Day. I would also like to take the opportunity to wish you abundant health and happiness, and wish Yemen and its people a promising future."

She added, " Respecting international law and universal principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations is  the best guiding principle for us towards a peaceful and prosperous world.”

President Ms. Viola Amherd affirmed her country's commitment to the peace process led by the United Nations in addition to continuing humanitarian efforts aimed at Yemeni people’s welfare. Her Excellency, noted despite the difficult circumstances, the two countries could still maintain close ties. She further reiterated her confidence that these close ties will further be developed and deepen in coming years.
