President Al-Alimi participates in the opening session of Munich International Security Conference

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, participated in the opening session of the International Security Conference, which began today, Friday, in the German city of Munich. It was at the beginning of a program full of presidential discussions and meetings with a number of international leaders and figures participating in the prestigious global gathering. In order to exchange  views concerning common challenges and ways to coordinate positions and visions at various levels.

Tomorrow, Saturday, His Excellency the President is scheduled to be a keynote speaker at the global conference in a discussion event on Yemen, the situation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. It is also to discuss the required role from the international community to support the Yemeni government and strengthen its sovereignty over its coasts and territorial waters.

His Excellency the President will also review the latest developments in the Yemeni situation, including international efforts to revive the peace process and end the human suffering caused by the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime, based on the laudable efforts of the  brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Munich Conference is the largest event on security policy in the world, as it focuses its deliberations on current security crises and future challenges to international peace and security.

The Munich Conference is taking place this year in unprecedented presence of heads of state and government, foreign and defense ministers, representatives of various regional and international organizations and gatherings, including the United Nations, the European Union, NATO, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the International Criminal Court, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the conference.
