
President al-Alimi receives UK Ambassador to Yemen
RIYADH-
Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi received today Wednesday Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Yemen Richard Oppenheim to discuss with him mutual relations between the two brotherly countries, regional and international efforts to alleviate human suffering and reviving political process in Yemen.
The meeting touched on latest developments in the light of ongoing developments in peace track and efforts of Saudi brothers to realize the truce, announcing sustainable ceasefire and finalizing process of exchanging prisoners in preparations for a UN- sponsored inclusive Yemeni dialogue.
President al-Alimi reminded of government's initiatives for peace and alleviating suffering of people, including handing over salaries of education and health personnel in Houthi- controlled areas before its unilateral measures of seizing revenues of oil derivatives deposited in the Central Bank of Yemen under the Stockholm Agreement, and banning dealing with new banknotes.
The meeting also stressed the importance of integrating all efforts for pushing the militia to interact positively with efforts of Saudi brothers and international community to restore a UN- sponsored inclusive political process.
President al-Alimi praised UK’s positions towards Yemeni people and realizing its aspirations of restoring State institutions and achieving security and stability in the country.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi.
