President Al- Alimi meets with Minister of Local Administration and Al-Jawf Governor

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Council, met today, Wednesday, with Mr. Hussein Al-Agbary, the Minister of Local Administration, and Mr. Hussein Al-Aji, the Governor of Al-Jawf, to be briefed  on the performance of local authorities and the current situation in Al-Jawf Governorate across various aspects.

President Al- Alimi was also briefed by the Minister of Local Administration, and the Governor of Al-Jawf, on the needed requirements to activate the role of local authorities in liberated areas of Al-Jawf, in addition to the needed facilities and services for displaced people fleeing the brutality of the Houthi militias, and the urgent response to the population’s calls and needs in the remaining ‏ Houthi-controlled areas.

His Excellency, the President stressed the need to coordinate all efforts and work as one team to achieve the desired change in citizens’ lives. He also stressed the importance of unity in facing current and future challenges and limiting the repercussions of the humanitarian crisis caused by the Houthi militias' war and their coup against national consensus.

The meeting touched upon the general economic, humanitarian, and security situations in the country, and the required interventions to alleviate the suffering of the citizens and support their aspirations to restoring State institutions and ending the coup of the Iran- backed Houthi militias, along with the threats posed by affiliated terrorist organizations.

The meeting also discussed efforts in economic and administrative reforms and efforts of the Ministry of Local Administration and concerned authorities to enhance the role of the local authorities, enable them to practice their powers, and fulfill their legal and constitutional obligations.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, the Director of the Presidency Office.
