
President follows up on developments of the tropical situation

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, made a field follow up, from his residence in the Republican Palace in Al-Ghaydah, the developments of the tropical emergency that entered Al-Mahara Governorate today, Monday, as a second-degree hurricane accompanied by heavy rains in various parts of the governorate.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council was briefed by the Governor of Al-Mahara Governorate, Mohammed Ali Yasser, on the procedures and efforts made to limit the effects of the tropical cyclone, the heavy rains, and the initial damage that has not recorded any loss of life so far, praise be to Allah.
His Excellency the President praised the role of the relevant agencies, the emergency teams formed by the local authority, and the awareness of the people of Mahara in responding to the warnings and instructions of the Meteorological and Early Warning Centres. The President affirmed the importance of maintaining readiness at its highest state until the end of the tropical situation and the rainy weather depression.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council renewed his thanks and appreciation to the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their urgent response by providing aid and assistance to those affected by the hurricane, including emergency humanitarian interventions that will begin to be distributed tomorrow, Tuesday, in coordination with the local authorities in the governorate.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council gave his directions to the concerned authorities to list the damage and losses of public and private property and agricultural holdings, and to provide the necessary care and protection for the citizens who were evacuated to temporary shelter centers in a number of the governorate’s directorates.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council also continued his intensive follow-up on developments in the tropical situation in the governorates of Hadhramaut and Socotra, and other areas under the influence of new climate changes. Furthermore, His Excellency followed up on the readiness of local authorities to confront these repercussions, and the support and interventions required at various levels.
