Saada Governor Takes Constitutional Oath Before PLC President

Mr. Turki Ahmed Mazhar Bin Qamsha today, Thursday, took the constitutional oath before His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC). Mr. Turki took the constitutional oath following his appointment as Governor of Saada Governorate.

Following the oath-taking ceremony, President Al-Alimi met with the newly appointed governor, congratulating him on the confidence placed in him to shoulder this national responsibility in one of the country’s most important governorates. The President added that the people of this governorate have been at the forefront of the struggle to deter the Iranian project, restore state institutions, and defend human dignity.

The President praised the courageous positions, distinguished national roles, and immense sacrifices of the people of Saada in defense of the republican system. He stressed that the tribes of Saada have, throughout history, served as a source of safety for the Yemeni state, rather than a source of threat, sectarianism, or the monopolization of power.

President Al-Alimi said that Saada is a cherished governorate, rich in its history, tribes, scholars, and farmers, and far greater than to be seized by an armed group or reduced to a single family or a sectarian project.

The PLC President reiterated that the state’s hand remains extended to every household, every tribal leader, every young person, every woman, and everyone seeking to bring this tragedy to an end. He expressed confidence that the tribes which helped forge Yemen’s history are today capable of shaping its peace, partnering in the restoration of the state, and serving as a gateway of trust for strengthening the security of neighboring countries.

He further noted that the state has a clear vision for the reconstruction of Saada, including reopening roads, rebuilding services and state institutions, and compensating those affected by the conflict. He emphasized that the rightful place of Saada’s people is in universities, farms, factories, and in building Yemen, not in the trenches of war.

Addressing the youth of Saada, President Al-Alimi said: “Do not allow anyone to steal your lives. Saada’s future will not be built on more graves, but on development, education, and stability.”

The President also urged the people of Saada not to be swayed by the rhetoric of Houthi militia leaders, who, he said, continue to preach bloodshed and death while offering no message of peace, development, salaries, schools, hospitals, or employment opportunities. He stressed that Yemenis are no longer persuaded by false slogans, but by tangible opportunities for a dignified life.

President Al-Alimi directed the Governor of Saada to open channels of communication with all social constituencies and maintain close ties with tribal leaders, national figures, youth, women, and professionals, while preparing for the phase of restoring state institutions. He affirmed that Saada would be at the heart of the future national project that all Yemenis deserve.
