Yemeni Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Takes Constitutional Oath Before PLC President

Yemen’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Salem Saleh Bin Breik, took the constitutional oath before His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), today Thursday at the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Riyadh. Mr. Bin Breik took the constitutional oath following his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Yemen to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Following the oath-taking ceremony, President Al-Alimi met with Ambassador Bin Breik and urged him to fully assume his responsibilities as head of one of Yemen’s most important diplomatic missions abroad. His Excellency said that the success of the mission would represent a significant contribution to the bilateral relations and strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries.

President Al-Alimi stressed that the partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is not a temporary relationship, but a strategic choice founded on shared history, geography, and common destiny. He said the Kingdom has consistently remained Yemen’s most committed partner in supporting the Yemeni state politically, economically, and humanitarianly, while bearing considerable burdens in defending regional security, stability, and vital maritime corridors.

The President reaffirmed that the time has come for Yemen to move beyond the cycle of crises and become an active partner in the Gulf security and development system, building a relationship based on integration, good-neighborliness, and mutual interests. He emphasized that Yemen’s natural future lies in becoming part of the economic uprising being led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, once the state is restored and the coup is brought to an end.

President Al-Alimi also urged Ambassador Bin Breik to make every effort to serve the Yemeni community in the Kingdom and facilitate their procedures. He described them as one of the country’s most important sources of economic support and among the strongest bridges of communication between the two peoples.

He added that Yemenis in the Kingdom are not merely expatriates, but ambassadors for their country through their daily lives and a distinguished reflection of Yemen before the host nation.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba.
