PLC President Offers Condolences to Amir of Qatar on the Passing of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, on Wednesday offered his condolences to his brother, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the brotherly State of Qatar, on the passing of the late Father Amir, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, at Lusail Palace.

President Al-Alimi was received at Lusail Palace by the Amir of Qatar, alongside Deputy Amir His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir’s Personal Representative His Highness Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani. The President was also received by His Highness Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, and a number of the late Father Amir’s sons.

Joining the President in offering condolences was a high-level delegation comprising Presidential Leadership Council Member Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, Speaker of the House of Representatives Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani, Deputy Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission and Minister of State Akram Al-Ameri, and Members of Parliament Abdulwahab Muawadah and Ensaf Mayo.

President Al-Alimi and the accompanying delegation conveyed the sincere condolences of the Yemeni government and people to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Al Thani family, and the brotherly people of Qatar. His Excellency prayed that Almighty Allah grant the deceased His vast mercy and bestow patience and solace upon his family and loved ones.

The President praised the late Father Amir’s distinguished national and humanitarian legacy, his significant contributions to Qatar’s development and growing regional and international standing. He also praised the late’s fraternal support for the Yemeni people and their political leadership throughout various stages and circumstances.

For his part, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed his sincere appreciation to President Al-Alimi and the accompanying delegation for their fraternal sentiments and heartfelt condolences.

Following the condolence visit, President Al-Alimi departed the Qatari capital, Doha. He and the accompanying delegation were seen off by Qatar’s Minister of Transport, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, and Yemen’s Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Rajeh Badi.
