PLC President Praises Saudi Leadership’s Support for Yemeni People

President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, expressed, on his behalf, his fellow members of the Council, the government, and the Yemeni people, his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, for their generous directives to disburse a new tranche of financial support allocated to the state’s general budget.

The President also highly commended the close follow-up by His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman and the dedicated efforts of his team, including the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), which helped secure the continuation of this vital support. He noted that the assistance would strengthen the government’s ability to meet its obligations on a regular basis, support the stability of the national currency, and alleviate the humanitarian suffering caused by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Earlier today,  Friday, Saudi Ambassador to Yemen and General Supervisor of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, Mohammed Saeed Al-Jaber, announced that the Saudi leadership had directed the disbursement of a new tranche of support through the program. The funding, amounting to more than SAR 224 million, is intended to help cover the Yemeni government’s budget deficit and finance the salaries of state employees.

Ambassador Al Jaber stated that the support would contribute to ensuring regular financial flows to the Yemeni government, providing foreign currency liquidity, strengthening the stability of the Yemeni rial exchange rate, supporting government efforts to deliver essential services, and enhancing economic stability.
