President Al-Alimi Offers Condolences over Brigadier Wahish’s Martyrdom, Orders Urgent Investigation

President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, sent a cable of condolence and sympathy to the family of Brigadier Yahya Wahish, Commander of the First Brigade of the National Resistance. The late Brigadier was martyred in an explosive device attack targeting his convoy. The attack also resulted in the deaths and injuries of a number of his escorts.

The President, on behalf of himself, his fellow members of the Presidential Leadership Council, and the government, expressed his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the martyr’s family, relatives, and comrades in the National Resistance and Joint Forces. He prayed that Almighty Allah grant the deceased His vast mercy and eternal peace, and bestow a swift recovery upon the wounded.

President Al-Alimi paid tribute to the martyr’s patriotic and heroic record, noting that Brigadier Wahish was among the earliest fighters to resist the project of the Houthi terrorist militias and to defend the republican system on various fronts.

The President directed the formation of an investigative committee chaired by the Ministry of Defense and comprising representatives from the Ministry of Interior, the State Security Agency, and the National Resistance to examine the circumstances surrounding the heinous crime. He also directed for take the necessary measures to pursue the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

He affirmed that such criminal acts would not undermine the resolve of the armed and security forces in their decisive battle against the Imamate-style project backed by the Iranian regime and the terrorist organizations aligned with it. He stressed that these acts would not deter them from continuing their duty to strengthen state authority and promote security and stability throughout the country.
