President Al-Alimi Offers Condolences on Passing of National Figure Anees Hassan Yahya

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, sent a cable of condolences and sympathy to Engineer Basel Anees Hassan Yahya and his esteemed family on the passing of their father. The deceased was former parliamentarian, former minister, prominent political figure, courageous national leader and member of the Political Bureau of the Yemeni Socialist Party. The late national figure,  Anees Yahya passed away on Sunday following a life marked by dedicated service and unwavering commitment to defending the republican system and advancing the interests and progress of his homeland and people.

On behalf of himself, the members of the Presidential Leadership Council, and the Government, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed his profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased. He paid tribute to the late leader’s distinguished virtues and national legacy, describing him as one of Yemen’s foremost national leaders. He noted that the leader remained steadfast in his commitment to republican principles and the Yemeni people’s aspirations for unity, freedom, social justice, and equal citizenship until his last breath.

In his cable, the President stated: “With the passing of the great national leader and thinker Anees Hassan Yahya, Yemen has lost one of its courageous sons and distinguished statesmen who made valuable contributions to the national and political movement. He was a model of statesmanship, a voice of wisdom and moderation, and a tireless advocate of dialogue, consensus-building, bridging divides, rejecting discord, and upholding the values of peace and national partnership.”

President Al-Alimi praised the late leader’s enduring contributions to the national struggle and commended his integrity and dedication throughout his public and parliamentary career. During his career he held several key positions, including Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Industry, Minister of Communications, Minister of Fisheries, and Member of the House of Representatives.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed that the legacy of Anees Hassan Yahya will remain a lasting source of inspiration for successive generations in their pursuit of justice, peace, and human dignity. He prayed to Almighty Allah to bestow His vast mercy and forgiveness upon the deceased and to inspire his family and loved ones with patience and solace.
