President Al-Alimi Congratulates Louise Arbour on Her Appointment as Governor General of Canada

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, sent a cable of congratulations to Her Excellency Louise Arbour on the occasion of her appointment as Governor General of Canada.

On behalf of himself, the members of the Council, and the Government, President Al-Alimi expressed his sincere congratulations to Governor General Arbour, wishing her success in her official duties. He further wished the friendly government and people of Canada continued progress and development.

His Excellency the President praised Canada’s steadfast and supportive stance toward Yemen, its political leadership, and the Yemeni people. He further commended Canada’s efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering caused by the Iran-backed Houthi militias.
