President Al-Alimi’s Eid Al-Fitr Address to the Nation
Thu ، 19 Mar 2026 17:00

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the Prophet of mercy and guidance, the truthful and trustworthy.

My great Yemeni people at home and abroad,

Honorable heroes standing steadfast in the fields of honor from our armed forces, security services, and resistance,

On my behalf, and on behalf of my fellow, members of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, I extend to you my sincerest congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr. We pray to Almighty Allah to accept from us and from you our fasting and night prayers, and to return this occasion upon our homeland with the clouds of war having lifted, and with our people having restored their state institutions, security, and stability.

Great Yemenis,

This blessed Eid comes at a critical moment in the history of our country and our region—a moment in which events are accelerating, truths are unfolding, and the divine promise is reaffirmed: “Truth has come, and falsehood has perished. Indeed, falsehood is bound to perish.” Thus, our faith remains firm that projects of falsehood and chaos, no matter how long they endure, will ultimately come to an end.

Amid these transformations, one constant remains unchanged: the power of truth and the will of this great people, who have stood firm in the face of war, borne its burdens, and refused to abandon their Arab identity, their republican system, and the future they deserve.

Today, I address you for the first time on such a solemn occasion from the capital of Arab decision-making, where consultations and coordination continue with brothers and friends during this sensitive phase that requires the highest levels of wisdom and joint action. The presence of the state leadership at the heart of this regional and international movement reflects our responsibility to defend the interests of our people and our national security, through close cooperation with our loyal brothers and the international community, to shape the long-awaited promising future.

My great Yemeni people,

This holy month coincides with a lasting milestone in the memory of the nation—the anniversary of the liberation of the interim capital, Aden, following the liberation of Al-Dhalea, which paved the way for defeating the militias of terrorism and destruction in the southern governorates.

On days like these, heroic resistance fighters achieved victory in Aden, defending a city that remains a symbol of freedom and a testament to our nation’s resilience against the Imamate project backed by the Iranian regime. Those days embodied a profound lesson in national will, as Yemenis stood united in defense of their cities, their republic, and their dignity.

From Aden, Al-Dhalea, Marib, Taiz, and across the country, a new chapter began in the battle to restore the state—written by heroes on the frontlines, and by citizens through patience and steadfastness in the face of war’s hardships.

Honorable citizens,

We are also approaching the fourth anniversary of the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council—a moment when Yemenis chose the path of national partnership over division, recognizing that the battle to restore state institutions cannot be managed with a mentality of dominance, but rather through consensus and collective action.

Today, after years of experience and work, we can confidently say that the Presidential Leadership Council has become more cohesive and harmonious, with a deeper understanding of the nature and requirements of this phase.

In this context came the formation of the new government, bringing together experience, competence, and broad national representation—reflecting our belief that building a modern state can only be achieved through the participation of all its people.

The government has already begun reorganizing priorities, approving the state’s general budget, and launching a realistic program focused on institutional stability, improving services, and strengthening confidence in the national economy.

We also place great hopes on the role to be played by the newly appointed governors, alongside their colleagues in local authorities across the governorates, as citizens expect serious efforts that enhance the presence of the state and bring it closer to their daily lives.

My great people,

Experience has proven that ending suffering and building a different model in the liberated governorates is not impossible, by the grace of Allah, when national will is present, political consensus is strengthened, and regional and international partnerships are clear and effective in achieving stability and improving living conditions.

Citizens have already begun to witness indicators of this progress, including improvements in some services, regular payment of salaries, and the unification of security and military decision-making, with generous support from our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, after years of disruption and division.

Dear citizens,

These difficult years have taught us a profound lesson: nations are not built through internal conflicts, and those who once united in arms to defend the republic must not be divided by disagreements or temporary differences.

Our rich history teaches us that victory is not achieved by arms alone, but also by hearts that forgive, minds that engage in dialogue, and wills that place the interests of the country and its people above all else.

Therefore, our shared responsibility today is to consolidate a spirit of tolerance and reconciliation, so that the liberated governorates remain a model of stability and a starting point for restoring national state institutions.

My great people,

Throughout all historical stages, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has proven to be the most loyal supporter and steadfast ally of Yemen and its people at all levels.

While destructive projects in our region continue to invest in chaos, militias, and weapons outside the framework of the state, the Kingdom proceeds with a different vision based on supporting nation-states, stability, development, and peace.

Here, the contrast is clear for the world to see: between a project that builds states and one that destroys them; between a project of peace and one of chaos.

Accordingly, we reaffirm that the Yemeni-Saudi partnership is not merely a relationship between two neighboring countries, but a partnership of destiny, mutual security and stability, and a safe haven for the region as a whole.

My great Yemeni people,

The Republic of Yemen renews its full solidarity with our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council states, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in confronting the attacks of the Iranian regime targeting their security and stability.

While condemning these blatant aggressions, we express our pride and appreciation for the high level of readiness and vigilance demonstrated by these brotherly nations in protecting their national security and deterring any threats to their peoples, sovereignty, and national resources.

It is both surprising and deplorable that the Iranian regime, instead of revising its destabilizing policies, continues to expand the cycle of conflict by directing its attacks toward its neighbors. This reflected nothing but its insistence on exporting crises and perpetuating instability in the region.

The security of the Gulf states is an integral part of the security of Yemen and the wider region. The stability our peoples aspire to will only be achieved by deterring destructive projects, respecting state sovereignty, adhering to the principles of good neighborliness, and halting interventions that fuel conflicts and undermine peace.

Dear citizens,

Despite all that has been achieved, the road ahead remains difficult and requires greater patience, effort, and hope. History teaches us that nations that endure hardships and uphold their right to freedom and dignity are those that ultimately shape a bright future.

Yemen, which has endured centuries of trials and challenges, has never been a country that surrenders. Rather, it is a nation that rises each time by the will of Allah, the courage of its people, and the support of its sincere brothers—emerging stronger and more engaged with its regional and international environment.

To our fellow citizens in areas under militia control,

We understand the scale of your suffering, but we affirm that the Yemen you aspire to is closer than ever before. The future will not be one of exclusion, revenge, or marginalization, but rather a future of a just state in which all are equal under the rule of law.

The signs of deliverance now appearing on the horizon are the fruit of Yemeni patience and resilience—and victory comes only from Allah, the Best of Protectors and the Best of Helpers.

My great people,

On this blessed night, I extend my deepest appreciation and pride to the heroes of our armed forces, security services, and popular resistance across all fronts of honor and sacrifice.

You are the guardians of the republic and the safeguard of the nation. Through your sacrifices, the day will come when Yemenis celebrate the greater Eid: the restoration of state institutions and the eternal triumph of the republic.

Glory and eternity to the martyrs,

Healing to the wounded,

Freedom to the detainees.

Eid Mubarak, and best wishes for continued health and happiness
