President of Presidential Council Discusses with Saudi Defense Minister National Developments and Promising Partnership

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Wednesday, with His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The President was accompanied by Council members: Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and Othman Mujali. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Salem Saleh Bin Bureik, the Yemeni Prime Minister.

During the meeting, Prince Khalid bin Salman conveyed the greetings of his Majesty, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Princel, Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, expressing their wishes for security, stability, and peace for Yemen and its people.

For his part, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council conveyed, through His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman, his and the Council members’ greetings to the Saudi leadership, wishing them continued health and well-being. He further wished the Government and people of the Kingdom every progress and prosperity under its wise leadership.

The meeting reviewed the fraternal relations between the two countries, recent developments on the national scene. It also discussed the joint efforts to stabilize conditions, strengthen state institutions in the interim capital Aden and other liberated governorates, and alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.

President Al-Alimi reaffirmed, on behalf of himself, the Council members, and the Government, his high appreciation for the pivotal role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in de-escalation, civilian protection, hosting and sponsoring the Southern Dialogue Conference. He also commended its generous humanitarian and developmental interventions across various sectors.

His Excellency praised Saudi efforts to promote security and stability in Yemen, as well as the Kingdom’s consistent support for the Yemeni people and political leadership under varying circumstances.

President Al-Alimi expressed confidence that the distinguished fraternal relations between the two countries will enter a new phase of promising partnership at all levels.

For his part, Prince Khalid bin Salman reiterated Saudi Arabia’s support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Government. He announced directives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince, Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman to provide economic support and a package of development projects and programs worth SAR 1.9 billion to the Yemeni people through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY).

Prince Khalid emphasized that this support reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing security, stability and contributing to a better future for Yemen and its brotherly people.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Abdulrahman Sheikh Al-Yafi, Minister of State and Governor of Aden Governorate. On the Saudi side, Mr. Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, Prince Khalid’s Adviser for Intelligence Affairs, Mr. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber, Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, and Major General Dr. Mohammed bin Obaid Al-Qahtani were also present.
