President of Presidential Leadership Council Reviews Situation in Abyan Governorate

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, today Tuesday, reviewed the overall situation in Abyan Governorate. This came in light of the recent measures taken by the governorate’s Security Committee, in line with sovereign decisions aimed at protecting civilians, preserving social peace, and safeguarding the state’s legal standing.
During a telephone call with Mr. Abu Bakr Hussein, Governor of Abyan, the President was briefed on the general security and service conditions, the level of readiness of local authorities to enhance security and stability in the governorate, and the measures undertaken to protect state institutions, public interests, and deter any potential threats.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council directed that all necessary measures be taken to strengthen security and stability in the governorate and to secure state institutions. He also stressed the importance of ensuring the free movement of individuals and goods, and deterring any attempts to undermine public security and tranquility or disrupt services.
President Al-Alimi reaffirmed the state’s commitment to supporting the local authority in carrying out its constitutional and legal duties, in coordination with all relevant government agencies, in order to meet citizens’ needs—particularly during this sensitive phase, which requires the highest levels of responsibility and discipline.
The President also praised the honorable role of the people of Abyan in the battle against the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias, and in defending the legitimate state institutions and the republican system across various stages. He expressed confidence in their high level of awareness and their ability to safeguard their governorate’s security and stability, and to contribute effectively to building the future they deserve.
He further emphasized that Abyan Governorate will continue to receive the attention and care of the state, including empowering its people to manage their local affairs and enhancing their participation in decision-making at all levels.
