A responsible source at the Office of the Presidency stated that His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, is closely following around-the-clock developments in Hadhramout Governorate and the implementation of the operation to reclaim military camps.

The source added that this comes within the framework of enforcing sovereign decisions, supporting coordinated efforts with the Coalition to Support Legitimacy to de-escalate tensions, and ensuring the protection of civilians.

The source explained that the President was briefed by Mr. Salem Al-Khonbashi, Governor of Hadhramout, Commander of the Homeland Shield Forces in the governorate, along with relevant state leaders, on details of the field operation.

The briefing also covered the measures taken to ensure the operation’s implementation in line with its defined objectives, in a manner that preserves security and stability, prevents any slide into chaos, and avoids harm to citizens’ interests and the state’s legal standing.

The source highly commended the pivotal role of the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its responsible efforts to reduce escalation, support the de-escalation track, protect civilians, and safeguard Yemen’s security, unity, and territorial integrity.

The source affirmed that the President stressed strict adherence to the spirit and objectives of the peaceful handover of military camps.

He underscored that these objectives include the neutralization of weapons, protection of civilians, preservation of public and private property, respect for human rights, prohibition of reprisals, and firm deterrence of any violations, with accountability for those responsible in accordance with the law

The source added that the President also directed efforts to accelerate the resumption of flights through Seiyun Airport and to secure public services, contributing to alleviating citizens’ suffering and ensuring the continuity of normal life in the governorate.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed confidence in the ability of local authorities and the Homeland Shield Forces to fully implement the plan for the handover of the camps. He called on the people of the governorate to prioritize the public interest, strengthen cohesion, and safeguard the security of their governorate and its social cohesion, as a fundamental pillar of stability and a driving force for statehood and development.

In this context, the source called on elements of the Southern Transitional Council to lay down their arms, prioritize the national interest, and avoid further bloodshed.

The source urged them to engage in the path of the state and its consensus-based institutions in accordance with the Declaration of Transfer of Power and the Riyadh Agreement, thereby sparing the country the risks of escalation and isolation.

Regarding the Southern issue, the source renewed the leadership’s commitment to addressing it in a fair and equitable manner, in line with nationally, regionally, and internationally agreed references, in a way that meets the aspirations of the people of the southern governorates and preserves their dignity and political rights. The source emphasized that this just cause cannot be hijacked through unilateral measures or the imposition of a fait accompli by force, and that the only path to its resolution is peaceful dialogue, national partnership, and state institutions, away from the logic of coercion by arms.

The source warned of the repercussions of the Southern Transitional Council’s continued closure of Aden International Airport to civilian and humanitarian flights for the second consecutive day. It stressed that this action constitutes an obstruction of a sovereign facility, causes direct harm to civilians, and represents a clear violation of the transitional phase references and de-escalation efforts.

The source reiterated the state’s commitment to protecting its sovereign facilities, considering the closure of Aden Airport a grave breach of the constitution and the law.

The source added that the move constitutes a blatant challenge to relevant international legitimacy resolutions, which emphasize the protection of civilians and public facilities, reject the imposition of a fait accompli by force, and criminalize the support for or empowerment of armed formations outside the framework of the state.
