President Al-Alimi Receives GCC Ambassador

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Thursday, at Al-Ma’asheeq Palace Mr. Sarhan Al-Muneikhir, the Ambassador of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The meeting discussed the latest political and economic developments, the progress achieved in the comprehensive reform agenda, and its tangible impact on the improvement of the national currency exchange rate. They also discussed the regional and international support required to reinforce the accomplishments made and to fulfill the aspirations of the Yemeni people in ending the humanitarian suffering caused by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed, on his own behalf and on behalf of the Council members and the government, his profound gratitude and appreciation for the stances of the Gulf Cooperation Council and its General Secretariat in supporting the Yemeni people and their constitutional legitimacy throughout various stages. He also highlighted the GCC’s active role in confronting the threats facing Yemen, its national identity, and its economy.

His Excellency also praised the honorable stances and exceptional efforts exerted by the brotherly GCC states in supporting Yemen and its people across multiple fields.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Shayea Al-Zindani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and Major General Saleh Al-Maqaleh, the Director of the Office of the President.
