President Al-Alimi Receives UAE Ambassador to Yemen

His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Wednesday, Mr. Mohammed Hamad Al-Zaabi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Yemen.

During the meeting, the Emirati Ambassador conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and his wishes for good health and happiness to President Al-Alimi, and for security, stability, and peace to the Yemeni people.

For his part, President Al-Alimi asked the Ambassador to convey his greetings and those of the Council members to the UAE leadership, along with his wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the government and people of the United Arab Emirates under its wise leadership.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples, and ways to enhance and develop them at all levels. It also reviewed recent national developments and the regional and international support needed for economic and financial reforms to improve the living conditions of the Yemeni people.

President Al-Alimi praised the active role of the United Arab Emirates in supporting the Council and the government, including its economic, humanitarian, and development contributions in various sectors.

His Excellency also highlighted the importance of Emirati projects, particularly in the electricity sector, and their direct impact on improving essential public services.

The President expressed his appreciation to the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for its support of economic reform efforts, including the upcoming payment of public sector salaries and the restoration of donor confidence. He emphasized that these efforts would help improve living conditions and alleviate the humanitarian crisis caused by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Presidency Office.
