President Al-Alimi Receives Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Sunday, His Excellency Dr. Emrullah İşler, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey.

The Turkish Ambassador conveyed to His Excellency the President the greetings of his brother, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, along with best wishes for His Excellency’s continued health and happiness, and for security, stability, and peace for the Yemeni government and people.

For his part, President Al-Alimi entrusted Ambassador İşler to convey his greetings and those of his fellow Council members to his brother, President Erdoğan, along with his best wishes for continued good health and further progress and prosperity for the fraternal Turkish people.

The meeting reviewed the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries, prospects for strengthening and developing them. Discussions also covered recent regional and local developments, and issues of mutual interest.  

President Al-Alimi praised the longstanding bilateral relations between the two nations and peoples across various levels. He commended the Republic of Turkey’s supportive stances toward the Yemeni people, their political leadership, and their aspirations to restore state institutions, peace, and stability. He also highly appreciated Turkey’s valued humanitarian interventions aimed at alleviating human suffering in the country.

His Excellency reiterated Yemen’s appreciation—its leadership, government, and people—for the facilities provided to the Yemeni community in Turkey, including hosting thousands of Yemenis seeking refuge from the brutality of the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militias.

For his part, the Turkish Ambassador reaffirmed his country's support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government, expressing Ankara's aspiration to broaden prospects for fruitful cooperation between the two fraternal nations across various fields.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
