President Alimi Offers Condolences on Passing of Former Foreign Minister

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, sent a cable of condolences and sympathy to Bashar Ahmed Qa'id Barakat and his family following the passing of their father, the late engineer Ahmed Qa'id Barakat, a prominent political, administrative, cultural, and diplomatic figure. Engineer Barakat passed away after a life dedicated to sincere service for his country and its people, contributing significantly to its advancement.

On behalf of himself, the council members, and the government, President Alimi expressed sincere condolences and deep sympathy to the sons of the deceased and all members of his family for their profound loss.

His Excellency praised the virtues of the late struggler and his prominent roles in serving the nation through the numerous high-ranking positions he held. Notably, he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Economy and Industry, Minister of Information and Culture, Deputy Minister of Oil, and Member of the Constituent People's Council. Additionally, Barakat was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemen Airways and served as Yemen’s Ambassador to several European and Asian countries.

Furthermore, His Excellency affirmed that with the passing of the struggler Ahmad Qa'id Barakat, Yemen has lost one of its most distinguished national figures—a man of integrity dedicated to the principles of statehood and the rule of law. He prayed to Almighty Allah to bestow His abundant mercy upon the deceased, grant him Paradise, and inspire his family and loved ones with patience and solace.
