President Al-Alimi in Address to the People: The State Prioritizes Civilian Lives and Interests Over Hollow Displays of Power
Aden
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, delivered an important address this evening on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
In his speech, he extended warm congratulations to the Yemeni people on this blessed religious occasion, praying to Almighty God that this Eid may be the beginning of a new phase marked by peace, justice, and prosperity.
The President stated—through a speech delivered on his behalf by the Minister of Endowments and Guidance, Dr. Mohammed Shabiba:
“It brings me and my fellow members of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government great joy to extend our heartfelt congratulations to you all, including the heroes of the armed forces, the security services, and all military formations, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. We pray to the Almighty that this Eid returns to our nation and people with the fulfillment of their aspirations for security, peace, and stability. May our coming days be better than those past, and may our struggle and sacrifices be culminated with decisive victory and the restoration of our state and its national institutions.”
The President also extended congratulations to Yemeni pilgrims and Muslims worldwide for completing their Hajj, expressing appreciation for the great efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in serving the pilgrims and ensuring their safety and comfort.
“These are commendable efforts on both Islamic and humanitarian levels,” he said, “reflecting the Kingdom’s leadership and distinguished status in serving Islam and Muslims.”
In addressing domestic issues, President Al-Alimi noted that this blessed Eid has come while the terrorist Houthi militia continues its destructive, sectarian project, acting under Iranian directives and rejecting all peace efforts. He condemned the group’s ongoing violations of blood and dignity, transforming areas under its control into arenas of repression and terror.
He detailed the brutal practices in these areas—abductions, killings, torture, extortion, as well as the looting of public and private property, and the recruitment and deployment of children to battlefronts—actions which, he said, flagrantly defy religious and humanitarian values.
President Al-Alimi addressed the Yemeni people directly, saying:
“You have all seen how this terrorist militia’s reckless gamble with the Yemeni people’s interests and gains led to Israeli aggression, resulting in the destruction of three ports, three factories, an airport, and four aircraft—with no remorse whatsoever from the militia.”
He emphasized that the Houthis continue their reckless adventures, driving the country toward further devastation.
“In contrast to this terrorism and blackmail,” he added, “you have seen how the state has consistently chosen to stand by the people—prioritizing civilian lives and their interests over empty shows of sovereignty.”
The President reiterated the Presidential Leadership Council’s and the legitimate government’s commitment, in partnership with national forces and political components, to continue working toward securing stability, delivering public services, improving living conditions, paying salaries, and rebuilding state institutions grounded in justice, equal citizenship, and inclusive governance.
On the Arab and national front, President Al-Alimi reaffirmed Yemen’s unwavering stance in support of the Palestinian people’s right to liberate their land, determine their destiny, and establish an independent, fully sovereign state.
His Excellency condemned, in the strongest terms, the ongoing genocidal war being waged by the Israeli occupation against the people of Gaza, describing these heinous crimes as a stain on the conscience of humanity. He called for a firm international response to end the aggression and protect innocent civilians.
