President of Leadership Council Meets with National Bloc Leaders of Political Parties and Components
Riyadh
His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met on Wednesday with the leadership of the National Bloc of Political Parties and Components, headed by Dr. Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr, Chairman of the Shura Council, to consult on the latest local developments and the role of national forces in effectively responding to regional and international changes.
President Al-Alimi welcomed the leaders and representatives of the National Bloc at the meeting, which comes as part of a broad consultation series with all active forces and components on the Yemeni scene.
Before beginning discussions, the President called for a moment of silence in honor of the righteous martyrs across the nation, on the eve of the anniversary of the liberation of Al-Mukalla from terrorist organizations. An achievement which was realized nine years ago by the heroic people of Hadhramaut with generous support from the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. This liberation reaffirmed the Govrnorate’s values of tolerance, coexistence, and its pivotal role in the national framework as a driver of state and development.
The President praised the National Bloc’s honorable stance in defending the republican system and resisting the Iranian expansionist project in Yemen and the region.
His Excellency stated, “According to the constitution and the guiding references of the transitional phase, political components and parties are not merely allies—they are partners in planning and decision-making. That is why you are here today—to forge a shared vision for the glory you have long fought for, not to simply be counted like numbers as is the case in militia-controlled areas.”
President Al-Alimi briefed the Bloc’s leadership on all recent developments, successes, challenges, and opportunities, to achieve victory and the future the Yemeni people deserve.
He also reiterated his appreciation for the role of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, for their sincere efforts in helping Yemen confront its challenges and maintain the state’s essential commitments.
The President highlighted the progress made in the national struggle, both locally and internationally, particularly in correcting misleading narratives about Yemen and redefining the Houthi militias as a permanent, not temporary, threat to international peace and security.
He noted that these efforts have started to bear fruit, as reflected in the international community’s positive shift—whether in terms of designating the militias as a foreign terrorist organization or moving from a policy of containment to a firm strategy of deterrence.
In this context, the President discussed the Presidential Leadership Council’s development of strategic visions and actionable plans across political, economic, military, security, media, and diplomatic fields, among others.
He added, “But what matters most today is the effective action on the ground, which we are now consulting on. All the objective conditions are now favorable for this year to be the year of decisive victory and the end of our people’s prolonged suffering.”
He continued: “We are called upon to invest effectively in these encouraging changes and not miss the opportunity to manage them collectively and wisely, to achieve the greatest possible gains at the lowest cost.”
President Al-Alimi emphasized the importance of resolving all differences among national forces and focusing on the battle to restore the state. True partnership, he said, lies in fulfilling the aspirations of the Yemeni people and achieving the goals of liberation and building a just state founded on equal citizenship and the criminalization of all forms of racism.
During the meeting, the President listened to a briefing by the Chairman and members of the National Bloc about its activities, political program, and goals aimed at enhancing cohesiveness and national alignment among all components to restore state institutions, end the coup, and realize the Yemeni people’s aspirations for security, stability, and development.
His Excellency was also briefed on a summary of the Bloc’s vision for addressing political and economic changes, alleviating humanitarian suffering, making a difference in liberated governorates, and building a broad national partnership to manage the transitional phase.
The meeting was attended by Dr.Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Presidency Office.
